Depreciation is a huge drawback in a brand-new car purchase. Within the first year of owning a car, it loses about 30% of its value. To help you find a vehicle that won’t experience too much devaluation, Kelley Blue Book introduced the Best Resale Value awards. This year, Honda walked away with five of these awards.
Each vehicle type from Honda — electric vehicle, passenger car, SUV, minivan, and pickup truck — earned recognition.
Here’s a look at Honda’s models that took away 2019 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards in their segments:
- Best Resale Value: Hybrid Car – 2019 Honda Insight*
- Best Resale Value: Compact Car – 2019 Honda Civic*
- Best Resale Value: Subcompact SUV/Crossover – 2019 Honda HR-V*
- Best Resale Value: Minivan – 2019 Honda Odyssey*
- Best Resale Value: Top 10 – 2019 Honda Ridgeline*
To determine what vehicles were worthy of the Best Resale Value accolade, Kelley Blue Book examined the latest research and analysis. This includes current sales data, market conditions, competition within segments, future economic factors, and current vehicle specifications. The award winners retain their value over the first five years of new-car ownership better than their competitors.
