Washing and detailing your car at home has tons of benefits, like the higher quality than you get going through an automatic wash, the convenience of staying home, and the money you save. So what are you supposed to do when you live in an apartment and don’t have an easy way to wash your car? We have some tips on how to wash your car for apartment dwellers.
Get creative with water sources
Okay, maybe you’ve already looked for a hose hookup. But if you haven’t, you might be surprised to find one somewhere around your building that will let you spray down your car after you wash it. You can also try filling up buckets with water in the bathtub.
Use a rinseless cleaner
If you can’t use a hose to spray down your car after you soap it up, try a rinseless cleaner. You mix the cleaning solution with water, and it lifts the dirt away without having to be rinsed off. An added benefit of this is that there’s a lower risk of scratching the paint, especially since you don’t have to do the extra step of drying the car off.
Go totally water-free
You might not want to fill up giant buckets of water and lug them down several flights of stairs, so try water-free wipes and sponges for cleaning and waxing your car. It can take some extra time to wipe down every inch of your car with a wipe like this, but it’s another method that doesn’t require rinsing or drying.
